Bridge 1724 Rehabilitation (Trujillo Alto, PR)
This project consisted of correcting defects of Bridge No. 1724 that may hinder its continued operation. This bridge is located on the island of Puerto Rico in the municipality of Trujillo Alto within the San Juan Metropolitan Area. It was built in 1980 (35 years old) to cross Quebrada Grande (“Big Stream”) and is located at the intersection of PR-181 and PR-852. It connects the Barrio Dos Bocas sub-locality with the municipality’s center.
Klein Engineering was responsible for the design of the bridge deck replacement, scour mitigation, intersection design, signage and pavement markings, roadside safety, and temporary traffic control. Traffic operations analysis for intersection and temporary traffic control design.
