Job Description

Seeking to hire an EIT or PE to join our multi-discipline design team in San Juan, PR.  Responsibilities include tasks associated with design of roadways, streetscapes, multimodal and traffic improvements, traffic engineering and planning studies, and other infrastructure components:

  • Transportation design: analysis/design of intersections and interchanges, urban and rural roadways, multimodal improvements, traffic engineering, site grading, storm water management, erosion control; business development activity, e.g. response to a Request for Proposal (RFP).
  • Prepare programming, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
  • Perform Transportation services associated with the bidding process: prepare addenda and amendments, open and tabulate bids; construction phase: field visits, answer RFIs, review shop drawings, and prepare record drawings.
  • Comply with QC policies and procedures.
  • Research project requirement standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for document organization and clarity.
  • Traffic engineering and planning studies; traffic related tasks for intersection projects, corridor projects, and other large scale transportation projects. Create schematic level roadway layout and grading plans. Develop manual calculations and analytical models for transportation analysis and design purposes.
  • Use computer software as a tool to solve basic to complex engineering problems. Knowledge and experience with Synchro, Vissim, Civil 3D, Open Roads and  other traffic and CAD modeling software is desirable.


Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4-, 5-, or 6-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Post-graduate degree in Transportation Engineering or Traffic Engineering-related degree may be given additional consideration

Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations

  • EIT or PE, or ability to complete all requirements for PE licensure within 60 months after being hired.
  • Good standing member of the Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR, for its Spanish acronym).
  • PTOE and RSP certifications are desirable.
  • Active membership in ITE, ASHE, NSPE, ASCE or other related professional organizations is desirable.
