Final Batches Related to Hurricane Maria
Dateline: [SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, February 25, 2021] — Lede: One of the most devastating effects of hurricanes hitting land is the damage done to our roads and transportation systems. Not only does it strand people, but it can make it difficult, or even impossible, to get them the supplies they need, including food and clean water. When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in September of 2017, the watershed system was hit hard, but Klein Engineering, PSC (KEPSC) has been working with USDA-NRCS since 2018 to recover watershed that were impacted by Hurricane Maria. KEPSC has worked on multiple sites across the Island and is now completing the final batch, helping the Agency accomplish the goal of restoring 100% of the sites identified in the emergency watershed program.
